L. E. Anderson, Jr.
Senior Pastor

Pastor L. E. Anderson, Jr. was born in Modesto, California, to Barbara Anderson and the late Lonnie E. Anderson, Sr. He is the youngest of five children.

Since 2002, Pastor Anderson has served as the Senior Pastor of Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Kokomo, Indiana. Under his leadership, the church has experienced significant spiritual and numerical growth. In 2009, Pastor Anderson facilitated the establishment of the F.D. Reese Christian Academy, a private educational institution aimed at fostering academic excellence within a Christian framework. In 2015, he authored Partnering with Pastors and Church Leaders: Closing the Back Door, a practical resource for strengthening church membership through membership assimilation.

 

Pastor Anderson’s academic credentials reflect his deep commitment to theological education and ministry. He earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Christian Education and Pastoral Studies from Selma University, followed by a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from the same institution. He furthered his education with a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministries from Grace Theological Seminary. He has completed a Doctorate of Ministry at Grace Theological Seminary, where he also serves as an adjunct professor. His doctoral dissertation, Discerning the Causes of and Remedying the Decline of Black Male Millennials in the Baptist Church, explores critical challenges and opportunities for ministry in contemporary contexts.
 

Pastor Anderson is devoted to his family. He has been married to Patricia Ann Davis since July 1994, and together they have four children. They also cherish their role as grandparents to three grandchildren.

 

In addition to his pastoral and academic endeavors, Pastor Anderson is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and has held numerous leadership positions in both civic and denominational capacities. A sought-after speaker, he travels extensively across the United States, advocating for discipleship and evangelism. His personal interests include jazz music and African American literature, reflecting his appreciation for culture and history.
